R. Doug Denison, President

Doug Denison started flying before he could drive and proudly states that he “knows his way around a commercial jet.”

He grew up with airplanes and worked for years alongside his father in aircraft sales with Denison Jet Sales. He has nearly 40 years of aircraft maintenance and flying experience.  Doug earned his FAA certification in Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance (A&P) in 1981 from Parks College of St. Louis University.  He continued his studies at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

After years of working in general aviation maintenance including the reconditioning of Sabreliners for the US Navy/Air Force, Doug became the Director of Aircraft Maintenance for a Georgia company on their corporate business jet.

He is a certified Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) and holds type ratings on the Jetstar, Sabreliner and Citations II.  Doug has been a commercial/corporate pilot for several corporations and flown commercially as a first officer for Eastern Airlines.

Doug has logged flying time in the DC-9, Jetstar, Hawker, MU-2, Sabreliner, Piper, Westwind, Cessna and King Air 200 among many more; and he’s also earned certifications as a multi-engine and instrument instructor.  Doug and his wife, Melanie, started The Jet Connection in 1999 to build quality relationships with personal and corporate clients to help them accomplish their “mission profile”.

Melanie is the go-to person who ensures smooth operations and seamless interactions for The Jet Connection’s clients.

Years of experience in the transportation and travel industries, coupled with marketing and sales experience, give her a unique perspective to manage these specialized business operations.  She has a depth of understanding the needs of aviation clients that help her put the most effective sales and marketing pieces in the most effective channels.

She uses her transportation industry background and expertise to work closely with buyers and sellers to ensure efficient and profitable connections, manage the client relationship and ensure that every step of the process is reviewed and on schedule. “We are in it for the long haul, so it is critical that we don’t just make a sale – we manage the process, respect their time and build a relationship.”
